This wing of the department is incharge of the schemes for improvement in quality of livestock, sheep and goats, poultry and piggery.

The department has 362 veterinary hospitals 1940 Veterinary Dispensaries and 1181 primary veterinary centers to cater to the health of the animals.

At the field level the department is headed by the Commissioner of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, with Deputy Directors at District Level.
