Graduate level course:
5½ years (4½ year main course + 1 year Internship) Degree course leading to Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) Ayurveda is being conducted throughout the country under IMCC Act, 1970. The syllabus and curriculum is uniform throughout the country and is being conducted only in Ayurveda Medical Colleges affiliated to universities and only after getting permission from Dept. of AYUSH, Union Govt. of India to start the course / undertake the admissions.
Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) is the statutory regulatory body constituted under IMCC Act 1970 regulating the Ayurveda education at degree level as well as at PG level as well as the practice of Ayurveda medicine in India.

Post Graduate level courses:

PG Degree Courses:
The PG degree course is of three years duration leading to specialty in the concerned subject with the degree of MD / MS after successfully completion of the course. The syllabus and curriculum for each specialty is uniform throughout the country and is being conducted only in Medical Colleges affiliated to universities and only after getting prior permission from Dept. of AYUSH, Union Govt. of India to start the course / undertake the admissions.

PG Diploma Courses:
The PG diploma course is of two years duration leading to specialty in the concerned subject after successfully completion of the course. The syllabus and curriculum for each specialty is uniform throughout the country and is being conducted only in Medical Colleges affiliated to universities and only after getting prior permission from Dept. of AYUSH, Union Govt. of India to start the course / undertake the admissions.
