Directorate of Medical Education
Selection Committee in the Directorate of Medical Education helps in identifying the number of seats in Post-Graduate and Undergraduate Medical and Dental faculties, M.Pharma, B.Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing) and Bachelor in Physio-Therapy, available in Govt., Private Colleges in the state, for the allotment of students to the respective courses and send proposals to the Govt. for notification and issuing Government Orders. Committee also prepares the seat Matrix as per state's reservation policy and sends the proposals to the Govt. for Notifications and orders. Reconciliation for filling up of the un-allotted seats in private colleges, effecting mutual transfers to MBBS/ BDS students, sending proposals to the Government regarding the amendments of the selection rules, etc., are also being handled by the committee.
MBBS/BDS Courses
(a) Preparation of seat matrix of MBBS/ BDS courses and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of notification of all Government and Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka.
(b) Effecting mutual transfers
(c) Conducting reconciliation meetings.
Post Graduate Medical and Dental Courses
(a) Preparation of PG seat matrix and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of seat matrix of Post Graduate Medical and Dental seats in all the Government and Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka.
(b) Participating in the counseling conducted by RGUHS for selection of candidates to the Post Graduate Courses in all Government Medical and Dental Colleges and for government seats in all Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka.
Post Graduate Super-Speciality Courses:
(a) Selection of candidates to the following Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses
(1) M.Ch.Plastic Surgery;
(2) M.Ch.urology;
(3)M.Ch.paediatric Surgery.
B.SC (Nursing), Physiotherapy and B.Pharma Courses:
(a) Preparation of seat matrix and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of seat matrix of B.Sc. Nursing, Physiotherapy and B.Pharma seats of all Government and Private Nursing, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy Colleges in Karnataka.
(b) Participating in the counseling conducted by RGUHS for selection of candidates to B.Sc. Nursing, physiotherapy and B.Pharma Courses in all Government and Private Nursing, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy Colleges in Karnataka.
(c) Issuing reconciliation permission to fill-up unfilled seats
M.Sc (Nursing), MPT and M. Pharma Course:
(a) Preparation of seat matrix and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of seat matrix of M.Sc (Nursing), MPT and M. Pharma course.
(b) Participating in the counseling conducted by RGUHS for selection of candidates to M. Pharma, M.Sc(N) and MPT course in Government and Private Pharmacy Colleges in Karnataka.
(C) Issuing reconciliation orders to fill up unfilled seats of M.Pharma, M.Sc(N) and MPT courses.
