Origin of EMPRI

EMPRI is successor of the former Environmental Training Institute (ETI). With assistance from DANIDA, ETI was set up by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCP) in 1996. Endowed with autonomy, EMPRI carries forth the mission of ETI along with a greater mandate, including most notably research and advisory services.

Since 2007 EMPRI is supported by Government of Germany through the Integrated Expert Programme of CIM. In 2008 the former Indo-Norwegian Environmental Project (INEP) was integrated into EMPRI, leading to a further expansion of the mandate.
