            ACTIVITIES :

Training Wing:

It provides training to the Technical and Non-Technical personnel of the Employment and Training Department,  and the Technical Staff of  Govt / Private Industrial Training Institutes. The Centre is conducting various long term and short term training programmes since inception. The center has highly qualified faculty members and has excellent state of the art facilities to provide best training. Till now the Centre has trained around 1070 State in 20 areas. Particularly the Centre has trained 183 JTOs in PoT module.

Target Group:

We offer training programs for Technical and Non-Technical personnel of the Employment and Training Department and Technical Staff of  Govt / Private Industrial Training Institutes, such as Principals, Assistant Directors, Training officers, Junior Training Officers,  Office superintendents, FDA's, SDA's, Lab Assistants and Group-D employees.

 Area of Training:

The Centre aims to cater to the training needs of all cadres of the Staff of the training wing of the department. This includes practical training, refresher courses, up-gradation of knowledge about the latest development in concerned fields and in the ever changing Government rules, Policies, Departmental developments, and the like, and there by improving the quality of training and governance.

 Research Wing:- 

Conducts problem-oriented research studies on different aspects of training in ITI's to bring qualitative improvement in training and for effective implementation of training Schemes & Government Policy in the Employment and Training Department.

Human resource is the greatest asset that any organization possesses and it must ensure that this potential is harnessed to the maximum to contribute positively towards the growth of the organization. The human resources can be potential resource only through well framed activities of HRD. Optimum utilization of human resource promotes the proficiency and effectiveness of each employee.

To cater to the needs of steady flow of quality and to quantify trained manpower for the industries and the nation, considering advancement of technology in the field of vocational training, State Training and Research Centre (STARC), Malavalli, is serving the Employment & Training department, Govt of Karnataka as well as the State since 2007. The Institute was set up  by the Government of Karnataka, Ministry of Labour & Employment, with the technical assistance from the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&T), Ministry of Labour, Government of India, to conduct Training Programme for Govt & Private ITI States and to undertake research in the field of vocational training, preparing curricula for different branches/trades. It is mandated to improve the quality and standard of training activities in ITI's on a continual process.
