Schemes of the Central & State Government.
1. Central Government:​

A) Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyothi Yojana (DDUGJY):

Ministry of Power, Government of India vide OM No 44/44/2014-RE dated 03.12.2014 has conveyed the sanction for launch/implementation of  Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyothi Yojana (DDUGJY) with the following co​mponents:

   1. ​Separation of agriculture and non-​agriculture feeders facilitating judicious rostering of supply to agricultural and non-agricultural consumers in th​e rural areas; and

    2. Strengthening and augmentation of sub-transmission & distribution infrastructure in rural areas, including metering of distribution transformers/feeders/consumer.

     3. Rural electrification, as per CCEA approval dated 01.08.2013 for completion of the targets laid down under RGGVY for 12th and 13th Plans by carrying forward the approved outlay for RGGVY to DDUGJY.

    4. The Monitoring Committee of Ministry of Power has approved the projects under DDUGJY for the State of Karnataka amounting to Rs. 1754.32 Crores. The ESCOM-wise details are as below:

B) Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS)
Ministry of Power, Government of India vide OM No 26/1/2014-APDRP dated 03.12.2014 has conveyed the sanction for launch/implementation of  Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) with the following components:

      1. Strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution networks in the urban areas;

      2. Metering of distribution transformers/feeders/consumers in the urban areas.

     3. IT enablement of distribution sector and strengthening of distribution network, as per CCEA approval dated  
       21.06.2013 for completion of the targets laid down under R-APDRP for 12th and 13th Plans by carrying forward the
        approved outlay for R-APDRP to IPDS.

     4. The Monitoring Committee of Ministry of Power has approved the projects under IPDS for the State of Karnataka            amounting to Rs. 1144.45 crores. The ESCOM-wise details are as below:

C) National Solar Mission (NSM)
The National Solar Mission is a major initiative of the Government of India and State Governments to promote ecologically sustainable growth while addressing India's energy security challenge. It will also constitute a major contribution by India to the global effort to meet the challenges of climate change.

2. Schemes of the State Government:

A) Niranthara Jyothi Yojane:

  • Niranthara Jyothi Scheme is a major project implemented by Government of Karnataka. The Scheme was taken up on pilot basis during 2008-09. The scheme is implemented in two phases covering 129 Taluks at a total cost of Rs. 2123crores.
  • The cost of implementation of Phase-1 is Rs. 1203 Crores & for Phase-2 is Rs. 920 Crores. The Government of Karnataka has approved the implementation of Niranthara Jyothi scheme at a total cost of Rs 2123 Crores with 40% equity and ESCOMs to borrow the remaining 60% of the project cost as loan.

B) Energization of Drinking Water Supply Schemes: 
Drinking Water is one of the basic needs to be provided to the needy people on top priority. In order to meet the social obligation, top priority is being accorded for energisation of Drinking Water Supply Schemes. During previous years 2001-02 to 2004-05, when the State faced severe drought conditions, there was a great demand for energisation of Drinking Water Supply Schemes.During the years 2004-05 and 2014-15, totally 65,356 Nos. of Drinking Water Supply schemes have been energized. C) Ganga Kalyana Scheme (G.K.S):

Launched with effect from 01.02.1997. The objective of the scheme is to provide irrigation through exploitation of ground water (bore wells and tube wells) for individual and group of beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, Backward classes and Minorities communities. The scheme was merged with S.G.S.Y. since 01.04.1999.Under this scheme KPTCL/ESCOMs energized the pump sets provided to the beneficiaries. Energisation of IP Sets provided by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation, Sri D. Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Development Corporation, Karnataka Minority Development Corporation, under the Ganga Kalyana Scheme.The year wise details are as below:-
