​​​​AYUSH IPDs in CHCs and their maintenance under National AYUSH Mission


​​​10 AYUSH IPDs were sanctioned by Government of India under the erstwhile CSS in Letter No. R-14012/09/2010 H & D Cell dated 17.05.2010 whereby Rs. 30.50 lakhs was sanctioned per unit.  10 AYUSH IPD units comprised of setting up of Nature Cure & Yoga Units in 10 CHCs under PPP Mode during the year 2010-11.  This scheme is continued under the National AYUSH Mission from 2014-15.   The schemes involves allocation of recurring grant at Rs. 5 lakhs for each of the IPD Unit (Yoga and Nature Care) for the purpose of Diet and other consumables and Lumpsum Contingency Fund @ Rs. 0.50 lakhs each IPD Unit.

These Yoga & Naturopathy Units functioning as an an innovative activity ounder PPP mode started from FY. 2009-10.   These wellness centres are set up with the help of Shantivan Trust, Ujjire and are  are functioning as co-located units. 

The manpower for the above units is from NRHM and infrastructure & drugs are provided under CSS and presently under the National AYUSH Mission.  The hospitals are in Sringeri, Thirthahalli, Puttur, Sankeshwara, Kanakapura, Hosdurga, Jagaluru, Chararajanagara, Srirangapatna, Arsikere & Legislators House, Bangalore. 

These units are providing primitive, promotive, curative services at the center. Each center has six personnel including medical & para-medical staff. Most of the centers are specialized in treating musculo-sketal disorders, mental disorders like anxiety, depression and stress. These centers also provide training to school children about yoga & naturopathy. Obesity clinics, Stress clinics, Yoga clinics are most popular units in these centers.​

​Under the National AYUSH Mission, during 2014-15 Rs. 50.00 lakhs was allocated and sanctioned by the Government of India for 10 units towards Diet and other consumables and Rs. 5.00 lakhs for 10 units for lumpsum grant.

As the scheme is on-going an allocation of Rs. 50.00 lakhs and Rs. 5.00 lakhs for the same purpose is continued under National AYUSH Mission activity during 2015-16 and incorporated in the SAAP of 2015-16.
