Agriculture Resources Information System Experiment (ARISE)

The requirements from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Agriculture Resources Information System Experiment (ARISE) project is envisaged to develop the methodology for pre-harvest production forecasts of new crops using remotely sensed and collateral data. For the rabi season 2017-18 a joint study by Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications centre (KSRSAC) and Space Applications centre (SAC), Ahmedabad has taken-up to develop the techniques for area estimation of the groundnut crop. The study area selected as per the statistics provided by Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Karnataka. Kalaburagi, Raichur & Yadgir districts contributing nearly 80% of the area to the State


Methodology
The multi-dates AWiFS (Advanced Wild Field Sensors) satellite images of September to March 2018, multi-dates NDVI images, Spectral-Temporal profiles by using hybrid techniques ISODATA (Iterative Self Organizing Data Analysis).
