Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology was established in 1938. The department has a distinction of more than 90%of pass percentage since decades. The department has fully fledged, equipped and well maintained laboratories as well as a museum with a collection of most rare species of organisms. The department also has well maintained library with the books of national and international authors referred by both the faculty and students. The Department has been instrumental in establishing the departments of Sericulture, Biotechnology and Genetics. The department has the forum entitled ‘JEEVA’, actively conducts special guest lectures from most renowned experts of the subject. Students are also exposed to competitions of lecturing and debates, on current scientific global issues. The forum organizes annual field trips for the students to enrich their knowledge.
