Powers and Duties of Assistant Conservator of Forest of District Watershed Development Office

  • ​​Works under the administrative direction of the D.W.D.O. and technical guidance of the Conservator of Forests, In charge of Planning, execution, evaluation and reporting of Forestry programmes in arable and non-arable lands.
  • Keeps close liaison with Scientists of UAS and line departments; Research institutions etc. ensures peoples participation.
  • Ensures timely survey, preparation of plans and estimates; proper execution, accounting, recording and reporting.
  • ​Accords technical sanctions according to delegation of powers, suggest appropriate species, planting methods etc.
  • Conducts regular field visits, inspects the works, and provides technical guidance and training to the field staff.
  • Closely associates with the officers of the D.W.D.O. in monitoring and evaluation of projects.
  • Associates with watershed associations village Forest Committees and other social institutions / committees and ensure participatory management of watershed programmes.
  • Minimum 15 field visits per month.
  • Any other work assigned by superior officers.
  • Ensure integration with other sectors for integrated Watershed Development.
  • ​Responsible for progress in schemes / components entrusted for which is in-charge.​
