Powers and Duties of Assistant Director of Agriculture of District Watershed Development Office


  • ​Works under direct control of the DWDO, In charge of the soil and water conservation works in the arable and non arable lands within watersheds.
  • Keeps close liaison with Scientists of UAS and officers of line departments; ensures people's participation..
  • Ensures timely survey, preparation of plans and estimates, proper execution, accounting, recording and reporting.
  • Accord technical sanctions as per the delegation of powers; suggest suitable soil and water conservation measures through vegetative and structural designs, selection of appropriate locations etc.
  • Conducts regular field visits, inspects the work and provides technical guidance and training to the field staff.
  • Associates closely with officers of DWDO. in monitoring and evaluation of the project.
  • Minimum 15 field visits per month.
  • Any other work assigned by superior officers.
  • Ensure integration with other sectors for integrated Watershed Development Department.
  • ​​Responsible for progress in schemes / components entrusted for which he is in-charge.​
