Powers and Duties of Joint Director Economist/Planning of Watershed Development Department

  • ​Preparation of annual plan in-charge of Monitoring & Evaluation of projects including concurrent , midterm and final evaluation and Planning matter's.
  • Planning and implementing internal evaluation & associating with the evaluation by External Agencies.
  • To work out economic data on the ongoing / implementing models of each sector and combinations of sectoral component.
  • Minimum 5 field visits per month at regular intervals to study the impact of various activities, constraints in execution and provide feed back and suggestions..
  • Associate with other technical activities and preparation of reports etc.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports & MMR reports.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis of various schemes.
  • Assist in formulating MIS.
  • Any other works given by the Commissioner, Watershed Development Department.
  • To arrange monthly review meeting of DWDO's obtaining progress reports of all schemes from DWDO, consolidate the progress reports scheme- wise submit the reports to the Commissioner to review the progress as per guidelines, then forwarding the report to Govt. / other Departments.
  • Prepare five year plan scheme reports with approval of the Commissioner. Maintain details of all plan and non plan scheme information, Maintain annual action plan reports of the Department. Prepare material for to Hon'ble Governor's speech / Budget Speech.
  • Ensure integration with other sectors for integrated Watershed Development.
  • Planning for and arranging concurrent midterm and final evaluation of schemes / projects entrusted to him.
  • Ensure planning implementation and monitoring of physical and financial progress of watershed Development Schemes of Districts and of project components entrusted by Commissioner, Watershed Development Department.
  • Responsible for progress in schemes / components entrusted for which he is in-charge.
  • ​Ensure timely sanction , release of funds from centre and State level to Districts, timely furnishing of utilization certificates to State to Centre in respect of schemes / components for which he is responsible.​
