Health Insurance is envisaged to facilitate comprehensive health care services that are acceptable, accessible and affordable to the rural and vulnerable people in Karnataka.

The main objectives of providing Health Insurance are:
  i. To improve health status and easy access to health care.
  ii. To provide a significant package of financial protection against health expenditure to two million vulnerable people in Karnataka.
  iii. To subsidize the insurance product to the BPL and SC/ST population.
  iv. To provide the insurance product (but not subsidized) to the Non-BPL population

also,the Insurance plan includes:
  Plan A: Basic hospitalization also with maternity services and pre-existing conditions.
  Plan B: All benefits in Plan A, plus outpatient care.​
